Share
Saturday's action was our third session of this Winter Moneyball Series and it delivered! This draw featured a mix of players from Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.
- Marshall Eippert & Manuel Roman
- Nick Zinn & Tristan Shaw
- Ben Boesing & Jim Dobran
- Paul Olliges & Miguel Reyes
- Brandon Hayman & Chris Bohnert
- Tanner Parks & Cooper Parks
As we entered the fifth and final round of pool play, three teams had already cemented their spot in the medal rounds, and it came down to the final game to decide who would take the final spot and would move on. Brandon Hayman and Chris Bohnert were able to pull out the win against Marshall Eippert and Manuel Roman, 11-8, to take the 4th spot in the medal rounds.
The medal rounds had undefeated Jim Dobran and Ben Boesing matched up against Brandon and Chris, while Cooper and Tanner Parks faced Nick Zinn and Tristan Shaw in the 2 vs 3 seed game. Jim/Ben took their semifinal match 15-5, while Nick/Tristan won 15-5, to set the stage for our finals. Jim/Ben won this match up earlier in the day (11-9), but after a match that featured many long rallies and a handful of highlight points, Nick and Tristan were able to get their revenge from the pool play loss and take the finals of this session's Open Division, beating Jim/Ben, 11-6, 11-9.
